Singer/songwriter Denny Lloyd boasts a distinctive voice, wistful lyrics and melody, uplifting tunes. Whilst Denny is influenced by the likes of John Lennon and Paul Weller, his voice evokes notions of David Gray and Neil Finn. His song 'Concerned' won the BBC New Talent competition 2004, and in 2005 Denny was selected as a finalist in VH1s song of the year with a second track 'Breathe'. Since 2001,
Denny has divided his time between teaching guitar and piano from his home in Windsor, and gigging at venues locally and in London. He played more than 350 gigs as a solo artist; more recently he has been gigging with a full session band, and has earned himself a steadily growing fan base.
December 2004 saw the release of Denny’s first album, running on the spot, produced by Neil Thom, who has worked with the likes of Morcheeba and Chicane. The album is now available to buy on iTunes, Virgin, HMV and many other download sites. It is also available to buy on CD via Denny's own website www.dennylloyd.com. Last year Denny did some session singing with various different artists. One of these artists is Station X who's single of the same title, was heavily played around the clubs by Judge Jules.
2007 has started promisingly with his debut album 'Running on the spot' now the background music for Sky TVs dating channel 870.
The second album is also underway. The first offerings from the album in progress 'Two bottles time' and 'Dangerous passion' can be heard and downloaded on MySpace now.
